A fine set of five antique Gothic Revival oak & leather, Irish Masonic throne chairs, circa 1900.
Each chair having a pointed architectural pediment with scrolled devices and a scrolled finial to the top, each chair has a carved gothic tracery arch with a Masonic symbol to represent the office of the sitter. The chair backs having turned columns with large acorn shaped finials, the back rest is upholstered in high quality deep blue leather as are the seats and arm rests. The chairs are raised on turned legs and have an engraved brass plaque with the legend;
"Presented by Bro. H.M. Barbour January 1907".
The symbol on each chair represents the rank of the sitter, the central chair is taller than the other four and is for the Worshipful Master, the other four are Deacon & Junior Deacon & Senior Warden & Junior Warden. The chairs are in very good condition, they are comfortable and very robust & stable!
The Worshipful Master's chair is of larger size than the other four,
