A fine Queen Anne Period, burl walnut 'double dome' bureau bookcase/secretary, circa 1710. The bookcase is made of figured burl walnut with some subtle fruitwood inlay and having a double dome pediment to the top, the twin doors are fitted with original mirrors and enclose a fitted interior of bookshelves, pigeon holes, and three small drawers below. Above the fall front desk are a pair of candle slides, the interior is fitted with curved drawers and pigeon holes and a tooled leather writing surface. The desk has a secret sliding compartment with a storage reservoir underneath, the base has two short and two long graduated drawers and the cabinet is raised on round bun feet.

Condition is very good; it came from a very fine country house collection and is priced at a fraction of many such period Queen Anne secretary bookcases.
