A very fine pair of antique 19th century French handpainted porcelain style pot-pourri urns, Veuve Perrin, Marseilles.
The urns were designed to receive fragrant pot pourri, each lid is surmounted with a gilded acorn shape finial and having pierced decoration to allow the fragrant aromas to diffuse. The body of each urn is very finely handpainted with two bucolic/farming scenes and on the other side figural subjects in a pastoral setting. Above the handpainted panels the cobalt blue ground is decorated with a frieze of gilded oval rosettes, at each side is a handle modeled as a rams head with gilded horns.
Each urn is raised on a socle shaped foot resting on a square plinth.
Condition is very good indeed.
