A fine pair of late 19th century handpainted German KPM porcelain portrait plaques circa 1890, after paintings by Friedrich Von Kaulbach (1850-1920).
Each oval plaque is very finely painted as a young German bride in historical/traditional wedding costume. The plaques are after paintings by Friedrich Von Kaulbach who was a celebrated German portraitist & historical painter.
Both plaques are stamped to the rear with the impressed sceptre mark and KPM, one plaque has an impressed W, the other an impressed X.
Both plaques are housed in the original gilded frames, both are in very good condition indeed, no damage or restoration noted.
