An exceptional & rare pair of antique early 19th century Dutch marquetry walnut card or game tables, circa 1820.

Each table is of reverse serpentine shape and having a hinged fold over top, both tops are sumptuously inlaid with a central flowering urn with scrolling acanthus, surrounded by flowers & foliate and interspersed with birds & butterflies. When open the tops are supported by a gateleg, each top is fitted with a green baize/felt playing surface and at each corner is an inlaid playing card. The base of each table has corresponding marquetry inlay to the front, sides and legs, both tables are fitted with a drawer to the front having the original engraved handles and 'blind' escutcheon. The tables having four cabriole legs inlaid with marquetry and raised on pad feet.

Condition of both tables is excellent, the baize playing surface has been professionally replaced and both tables have received a light professional French polish in Bloomsbury's workshops, each table is stable and ready for use.
