Antique Dutch oil on canvas still life painting by Johannes Baptist Nicolaas van Gent (Dutch, 1891-1974), the painting circa 1920. Johannes van Gent was a well known painter of floral still life paintings and is included in the National Art History Documentation Center (RKD) in The Hague, Netherlands and is also noted in the ‘Lexicon of Dutch Visual Artists 1750 – 1950’ by Pieter A. Scheen.
The painting depicting flowers in a copper vase with a sugar sifter and having a red curtain to the background. The painting signed lower right and housed in the original gilded frame.
