Antique oak mercantile store ribbon spool cabinet, wine or liquor cabinet, A.N. Russell Ilion, NY, circa 1900. The cabinet having a dentil molded frieze to the top, the cabinet having six pull down doors to the front and back with a storage area that will accommodate two bottles of wine. Through the body of the cabinet are six full length drawers each with three sections that will also receive two bottles to each section, the cabinet can house a total of 60 bottles of wine.

The cabinet is raised on a stepped platform and has the manufacturer's engraved brass plaque, "Manuf'd by A. N. Russell & Sons Ilion N.Y." These cabinets were made in two sizes, this is the largest size.

This is a very novel way of storing wine or liquor, naturally the cabinet could be used for its original purpose of storing thread, ribbon or yarn, or for any other type of storage. The cabinet has all the original glass and hardware and is in excellent condition.
