A very fine antique silver gilt and cloisonne enamel Imperial kovsh, 6th Artel, Moscow, 1908-1917.
The 6th Artel was possibly the most famous in Russia and was the supplier to the Imperial Court of very high quality enameled silver, often designed in the traditional style, using olive green, blues and cream colored enamels.
This kovsh of traditional form and having all over enamel decoration including the handle and 'spout'. The base having the Kokoshnik mark for Moscow and the stamp of the 6th Artel, silver weight 50 grams.
Condition is very good indeed, no damage or restoration noted.
Provenance; Part of a large collection of fine Russian silver, passed through the same family of Russian descent since the early 1900's.
