A large and fine antique oil painting, river landscape, The Est Lyn River near Barnstaple, Devon, England, by Albert Lane R.A. (active from 1856 deceased in 1872).
Albert Lane was an artist working mainly painting in watercolors, he lived in Barnstaple North Devon, painting views in Devon, Wales, Surrey and elsewhere.  He frequently exhibited his work at the Royal Academy, the Suffolk Street Galleries and the British Institute.
The painting depicts a river running through a wooded area with hills to the background, the painting is housed in the original gilded frame, to the verso is an old exhibition label.
A large and fine 19th century painting by a prominent artist, condition is very good and ready to hang on your wall.
