Antique 19th Century Islamic Persian Arabic Bronze Celestial Globe Astrolabe, circa 1850. A good antique Islamic Qajar period bronze Persian Arabic armillary (spherical astrolabe), celestial globe, circa 1850. The globe having a graduated ring & standing on four blustered legs, the hollow sphere mounted on an axle & is ornately engraved with zodiacal signs, angled rotational bands, figural representations, serpents & other creatures as well as numerical symbols & short legends written in Arabic. The stand joined by a secondary ring and the globe raised on bun feet. Good condition.
