A very rare and original antique 500+ year old carved Tudor refectory/serving table, circa 1550. The table dating from the reign of Henry VIII and having a very substantial plank top (over 2.5" thick), below is a carved gallery on all four sides. The table is raised on four substantial turned baluster legs and the ends are joined with a simple stretcher, whimsically one leg was applied upside down and has been that way for more than 500 years.

The table is very robust and stable, there have been some ancient repairs which only add to the table's charm, the deep honey color of the finish is only something developed over centuries! Condition is very good considering half a millennium of use, the table is ready to be used in your home. The provenance of the table: it came from a member of the English nobility from a fine country house in the SW of England.
