A good quality antique French walnut ladies Louis XVI cylinder/roll-top writing desk, circa 1880. The desk mounted with gilt bronze and having a pierced 'heart-from' gallery to the top, enclosing a white Carrara marble top. The top fitted with three drawers above a cylinder roll-top, which moves smoothly and with ease, enclosed is a fitted interior comprising three corresponding drawers and pigeon holes. The desk is fitted with a tooled red leather writing surface, which slides out to accommodate the sitter to write. The desk is raised on tapering legs with incised gilding and ormolu cuffs to the top, the desk in good original condition.
