A good pair of antique Italian 18th century inlaid walnut baroque commodes/side tables, circa 1750. Each commode of reverse trapezoid shape, inlaid with satinwood stringing enclosing a single inlaid stylized flower of fruitwood, each side with a corresponding inlaid design. The front of each commode having a pair of graduated drawers, also with satinwood stringing and an inlaid floral fruit wood escutcheon. Both commodes have a shaped skirt and are raised on outswept cabriole legs terminating to carved claw & ball feet, the commodes having a locking key.
The commodes are most likely Neapolitan from a provincial workshop, rare to see a matched pair!
