A fine antique cased sterling silver fruit/dessert service for 12 people, made by Allen & Darwin, Sheffield & retailed by Asprey London, dated 1902. Silver weight 34 oz (964 grams)
The set made totally of solid sterling silver; the handles, blades & fork ends are solid sterling throughout. The set comprising 12 dessert knives and 12 matching forks & housed in a gilt red leather case lined with cream satin. Each knive & fork are hallmarked to both the handle and the blade/fork, the case having a lock to the front with key. The case is stamped in gold Asprey Bond St., London.
Condition is very good indeed.
