A very elegant antique Biedermeier Golden Ash & Ebony Biedermeier secretary chest, Sweden, circa 1820.
The secretary chest is made of the finest golden ash and ebonized accents, the top of the chest with an architectural pediment, below is a single long drawer, To the center is a fall front ebonized writing surface with a lavishly fitted interior of burl & ebony, a 'secret' sliding burl panel lifts to uncover a storage area and this is surrounded with inlaid burl-fronted drawers and a pair of three section pigeonholes that pull out to reveal 'secret' storage wells. The base having two further long drawers, the cabinet is raised on stile feet, condition is excellent, this very elegant Biedermeier secretary chest is ready to grace your home or office.
