A fine antique Irish Georgian inlaid Cuban mahogany Country House sideboard, Donegal, circa 1800.
The sideboard came from a fine country house in Donegal and by repute from Buncrana Castle, the sideboard is of unusually large size at almost 7.5' feet in length & evidently commissioned for the country house it came from.
Typical of Irish sideboards of this time the top having a shaped gallery with a single shelf/plate-rack, supported by four carved 'rope twist' columns. The base having a bow front with a series of five drawers, all with the original locks and banded with satinwood inlaid and chequered ebony & satinwood edging.
Below left is a fitted drawer with a wine cellarette that can store up to 16  bottles of wine, to the arched center is a cupboard and also on the right handside of the sideboard another cupboard. The sideboard is raised on six turned and twist carved legs terminating to ball feet. Condition is very good indeed, this beautiful piece of antique furniture is ready to grace your home.
