A good antique George II inlaid mahogany gentleman's chest of drawers, circa 1750.
What generally constitutes a gentleman's chest of drawers is one of diminutive size, since such chest were used in fashionable apartments in London, also having a brushing slide and sometimes a fitted interior to the top drawer.
This chest is of diminutive size having a band of checkered inlay to the top, there are four graduated long, each drawer having corresponding inlay. The top of the chest is fitted with a brushing slide, each drawer has two pierced brass bail handles and a brass escutcheon/lock plate, the chest is raised on four shaped bracket feet.
Condition is good and this handsome Georgian chest is ready to grace your home.
