Antique French Louis XIII Carved Walnut Barley Twist Armchair Cane Cowhide 1880

A very handsome antique French Louis XIII style carved walnut 'Barley Twist' armchair, circa 1880.
The chair back with twin cup and cover carved finials and an ornate carved backsplat, below is a caned back with scrolled carved panels to each side and a corresponding carved skirt below. 
The chair with Barley Twist columns, the base also with Barley Twist legs and stretcher and joined with an ornately carved yolk, the arms with carved acanthus leaf handrests, the chair raised on bun feet.
The caned back has been professionally replaced by hand in Bloomsbury's professional workshops, the seat is newly upholstered in a beige cowhide. All restoration has been undertaken by professional experienced restorers using traditional and appropriate materials.
This very handsome antique chair is in excellent condition, is is very sturdy and comfortable and is ready to grace your space.
