A spectacular antique French Regence style giltwood & parquetry console or center table, circa 1890. 
The table top having a geometric marqetry design, the top has just been professionally French polished in Bloomsbury Fine Art & Antiques workshops. The table edge is carved & gilded with an acanthus leaf border, the table skirt has incised lattice decoration and on the long sides two appliqued rosettes and one on the short sides. At each corner is a beautiful maidenhead wearing a headress, below is a scrolled cabriole leg with bellflower decoration and a larged carved acanthus leaf bracket to the base of the leg. The table is joined with an elongated 'X' frame stretcher with an elaborately carved twin handled urn to the center & flanked by a pair of finials. The table stands on compressed carved bun feet with castors to the underside, condiotion is very good, this speactacular giltwood table is ready to grace your home.
