An unusual and attractive antique carved oak Arts and Crafts bench, circa 1900.
This very handsome antique bench has a hand-carved top and is made of planked and pegged construction, the seat is carved with birds sitting is a fruiting tree.
The flared base with block carved legs and stretchers, the bench is raised on arched pad feet.
The bench is made from solid quarter sawn oak with very attractive 'Tiger' stripping and is of very stout construction, it is very stable and sturdy. The bench has a warm lustrous honey colored patina and has just lovingly received a coat of wax in Bloomsbury's professional workshops.
Condition is very good indeed, the bench can seat one to two adults or two to three children.
This lovely example of an antique Arts and Crafts bench is ready to grace your space.
