A good early antique American Clark’s O.N.T. mercantile store advertising spool cabinet, circa 1885.

A distinctive piece of late 19th-century American "country store" advertising furniture, carved in the Eastlake style. Originally used in general stores to display and sell thread, the cabinet with six drawers with the original oxidized brass pulls, each drawer with the original gilt and black lettering labels.
Good antique original condition, this great piece of mercantile Americana is ready to use and grace your space.

The "O.N.T." Meaning: The acronym stands for "Our New Thread". This was a high-quality six-cord cotton thread developed specifically for use with the newly popular sewing machines of the late 1800s.George A. Clark: He was the "Sole Agent" (as labeled on the drawers) for the Clark Thread Company in the United States.
