Antique Chinese Export Lacquer Work Sewing Box, Circa 1820. The box having a hinged lid and sumptuously decorated with a gilded design of Imperial children playing in a bucolic landscape, with corresponding designs around the sides also. The box having a fitted interior with the original ivory/bone sewing accoutrements, a single drawer below with a writing slope. The box of sarcophagus shape and resting on gilded lion's paw feet. The gilding is in remarkable condition, the lacquer work also in good condition, exclusive of a few idiosyncrasies.
