A very elegant antique tall Art Nouveau mahogany inlaid plant stand, designed by Leonard Wyburd and retailed through Liberty & Co, London, circa 1905.
This very stylish Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau mahogany plant stand has a square top, below are four delicately inlaid panels, each panel is inlaid with fruitwood organic floral tulip motifs, influenced by designs from the Austrian Secessionist movement.
The stand has outstretched long tapering legs with a second tier to the base with scalloped sides, below are slats joined with a stretcher on each side, reminiscent of the Glasgow School and the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
The stand was most likely designed by Leonard Wyburd who was chief designer for Liberty & Co., and created many of their iconic Arts & Crafts furniture designs.
This stand is in excellent antique condition and is ready to grace your space.
