Antique 19thC French Black Forest Carved Oak Hunt Buffet Sideboard Bar 1870

An exceptional antique French carved oak 'Hunt' buffet. bar, sideboard in the Black Forest style, circa 1870.

The break-fronted top having a serving slide for serving food & drinks, above a pair of curved drawers at each side and one central drawer to the center, the drawers all with deeply carved scrolled floral and foliate panels, with the original hand-forged iron hardware.
The base with curved doors at each end with carved garland ribbons and fruit, corn and other vegetables, the doors each enclosing a single carved shelf. The central doors are separated by acanthus carved corbel brackets with architectural pilasters carved with bell-flowers and rosettes, each door is very finely & deeply carved with fish and fowl, enclosed is a single shelf.
The buffet is raised on a substantial stepped plinth base, the buffet has the original warm mellow darker honey color finish, excellent antique condition.
This very elegant Hunt Buffet would work great as a bar, serving buffet in a breakfast or dining room or a serving piece in your kitchen or even a restaurant.
