A fine, elegant antique French Empire burl walnut and ormolu mounted & white marble top commode, chest of drawers, in the Neoclassical style, circa 1810.

This very attractive antique commode is made from highly figured burl walnut and has the original & substantial white marble top, below are four drawers flanked with round columns with gilded bronze capitals & bases.  
The top drawer is having a beautifully cast gilded bronze mount of a pair of Neoclassical maidens sitting either side of a flaming torch, one is playing a harp the other is reading poetry. Below are three further drawers with plenty of clean and aroma free storage, each drawer is fitted with a laurel wreath lock-plate and circular twin gilt bronze pulls. The drawers run smooth and the locks function, original key is present.
Condition is very good, this elegant and function antique French commode is ready to grace your space.
