A fine antique Dutch walnut two door cabinet with inlaid specimen wood parquetry and marquetry floral inlay, circa 1860.
The cabinet is a striking example of a highly skilled cabinet maker's craftsmanship, joined and dovetailed throughout using the very finest materials. To the back is a gallery which is finely inlaid with a scrolling floral frieze, the top of the cabinet is inlaid with a satinwood border and to the center is an octagonal parquetry inlaid of burl, satinwood and ebony stringing.
The base of the cabinet having a large, deep single locking drawer (original key present), inlaid with a corresponding frieze with a fruiting basket to the center and an ebony and satinwood chevron band below, the drawers are flanked with a pair of raised tiger maple panels. Below are a pair of locking cabinet doors (original key present), each door with a lavishly inlaid floral panel bordered with tiger maple and rosewood inlays. The sides are centered with tiger maple panels bordered with walnut and is is raised on turned bun feet.
The cabinet is in excellent antique condition and of astonishing quality and is ready to grace your space.
