An fine and rare early 18th century antique Georgian oak Welsh housekeeper's cupboard, circa 1740.

This very handsome and all original country vernacular oak press is in two sections; the top has an ogee shaped cornice with dentil molding below. The cupboard with a pair of fielded panel doors, each with twin recessed panels the top panel with a decorative arch. The doors enclose a large storage area the top of the cabinet is fitted with two rows of original hand carved pegs to the upper interior. The doors are flanked with quartered pilasters to each side.
The base cabinet having a bank of six drawers fitted with period brass bail pulls, the cabinet is raised on bracket feet, the sides of the cabinet with corresponding panels. This cabinet is made from finely grained solid oak and has a warm radiant honey brown patina, the cabinet has just lovingly received a coat of wax in Bloomsbury's workshops.
This livery cabinet is in excellent original condition, a very handsome early 18th century period, country vernacular cabinet is ready to grace your space.
