A fine period 18th century antique Louis XV French provincial cherry wood two drawer serpentine commode, circa 1760.

This very elegant antique commode is sometimes referred to as a "Commode Sauteuse" meaning to leap or jump, as the elongated cabriole legs gives the impression that it leap from the ground.
The chest crafted from sold cherry wood with a warm rich luminous honey colored patina, the two drawers of serpentine shape with elegant asymmetrical moldings, the original gilt bronze rococo handles and lock escutcheons in a central oval medallion.
The scrolled apron accented with a central carved rococo medallion, the cabriole legs terminating to scrolled feet.
The chest offers plenty of storage, the drawers are clean and aroma free, the commode is in excellent antique condition and is ready to grace your space.
