A very good antique American Colonial paneled cherry tavern settle/bench, Circa 1780.
The bench most likely from New England having four fielded panels to the back and a curved armrest at each side, each raised on turned supports. The drop in seat has just been professionally re-upholstered in a high quality cream fabric, the front of the settle having a Cyma curved skirt and three turned legs raised on inverted cup feet.
The bench is of pegged construction throughout and is in excellent condition, it is very robust and stable and ready to grace your home.
