An outstanding rare antique 17th century two drawer carved walnut refectory, console or serving table, Barcelona, Spain, circa 1650.
A remarkable almost 400 year old Spanish table, the table is carved on all sides so it is able to float in a room, the top is very substantial and made of a single board, that is 2" thick. 
To the front are two large drawers carved with circular geometric devices and fitted with the original hand-forged iron pulls, the table is carved on all the other sides with corresponding chip carved designs. The table is raised on ring turned twin baluster shaped legs and joined with a continuous stretcher to the base.
There are a few ancient historic repairs, but the table is in remarkable original condition for it's age, it is very robust and substantial with a warm rich patina developed over four centuries.
