19th Century French Napoleon III Ormolu & Marble Ebonized Cabinet Sideboard 1860

A splendid and extravagant 19th antique French ebonized and ormolu mounted marble top credenza sideboard cabinet, Napoleon III, circa 1860.

This exquisite quality antique French credenza is made from ebony with gilded ormolu mounts and a white Carrara marble top. The sides of the cabinet are curved the top with gilt bronze ormolu friezes, the curved ends are also mount with gilt bronze masks of Greco-Roman gods. The cabinet is also inlaid with floral and brass line inlay, the cabinet is mounted with sumptuous gilt bronze corbel brackets. At each end is a carved door and two doors to the center with gilt bronze spandrels and oval cartouches, which are inlaid with inlaid engraved brass portraits of Neo-Classical dancing couples, outlined with gilt bronze frames.
The curved doors enclose two corner shelves with the original fabric lining, the central doors enclose a pair of shelves too (not pictured), the cabinet is raised on a shaped plinth base with a gilt bronze 'egg and dart' frieze.
The cabinet is in remarkable condition, all the gilt bronze is present as is the brass inlay. This exquisite antique French cabinet is ready to grace your space.
