A very fine antique Swiss Black Forest tilt-top marquetry pedestal table, circa 1880. The table having a circular top with fruit-wood and ebony inlaid panels, the central panel having a pair of nesting birds, surrounded by six panels with architectural scenes and vignettes with hunting and fishing paraphernalia. The tilt-top locks in place when in the down position and is raised on a turned pedestal base having an ebony marquetry floral cuff to the center, the table having a tripod base with carved fruiting vines.
The table is of amazing quality, very stable & robust, and is in excellent condition.
