Antique French post-Impressionist Oil Painting by Pierre Ladureau (French, 1882-1975), Circa 1920. Ladereau was born in Dunkirk & studied art in Paris, he was very well exhibited in leading galleries in the capital and was highly active in the artistic community. Ladureau was particularly active during the interwar years and was recognized as being one of the eminent landscape artists of his generation. The influences of Cezanne & Braque are evident in his works, but in a much milder & less angular post cubist style. The painting depicts a bucolic village scene at dusk and is housed in the original gilded frame and signed "P. Ladureau" to the lower right. To the verso of the canvas is an old exhibition number, "189." The painting is in good condition.
