Ex-Christie's sale.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe screen is very finely carved in the Rococo style, each fold having a finely and elaborately carved crest with foliate and scrolled carvings, the sides of each frame carved with a recurring leaf motif. \u003cbr\u003eThe screen retains the original oil on canvas paintings, which depict a bucolic landscape with cherubs in an allegorical depiction of Spring and Summer. \u003cbr\u003eCherubs hold a draped curtain to the top and side of the screen, to the center one cherub stands up a scrolled plinth in front of a host of yellow and blue irises, the last fold painted with and architectural scene above a pair of nesting doves.\u003cbr\u003eThe screen is raised on three pairs of carved and scrolled feet, the rear of the panels are covered with brown figured satin fabric. The screen was sold at Christie's London in 2005 sale # 5813 for the British Pound equivalent of $7,500.
