The painting is signed lower left \"H. He was actively exhibiting from roughly 1797 through 1821.\u003cbr\u003eHis landscape subjects typically capture scenic views across Wales, Suffolk, and Cornwall and his work would be generally described as British Romantic School. His work was highly influenced by the style of the Dutch Golden Age and reflects the pastoral and luminous elements of that period. He focused heavily on rustic countryside, drovers with cattle, horses, and quiet riverbanks.\u003cbr\u003eDuring his career, he successfully exhibited 20 works at the Royal Academy and 15 works at the British Institution.
