A fine, antique 19th century Syrian inlaid walnut dowry chest, circa 1880. This Damascus work chest is finely carved and inlaid with Mother of Pearl and having four stylized Cypress trees to the front of the chest. The chest having a lift up hinged lid enclosing a storage space and fitted with two lidded 'tills' for candles or storage of smaller items, the chest is raised on tall bracket feet. The chest is in very good condition and is robust and ready to use for storage of your linens or other precious items.
