An original bronze sculpture by Salvador Dali, Spain (1904-1989), "Angel of Victory", 1974, signed & numbered.
The bronze created by the lost wax method (cire perdue), depicts a contorted surrealist figure raised on a black marble plinth, this is an original sculpture created by the celebrated Spanish surrealist & "L' Enfant Terrible" Salvador Dali in 1974. The statue is titled; The Angel of Victory and is signed "Dali" to the inner base of the bronze and is numbered to side of the base "1094".
Dali's biography is far too extensive to list here, but he was a leading exponent of Futurism, Surrealism, Cubism & Dadaism, he was friends with Picasso, Miro, Bunel, Duchamp and many more, his work is located in many of the most important museums on the planet from the Prado in Spain to MOMA in New York.
The bronze is in excellent condition as is the marble base, another bronze from this edition sold at Odalys Auction in Caracas in 2011 for $4,662.
