A very fine pair on antique bronze Japanese Meiji period bronze vases, circa 1890. The vases are very finely cast and modeled in the Aesthetic taste, each vase having twin handles modeled with Japanese lions (Komainu). The flared rims with an engraved frieze and the neck finely decorated with tall lappets and dragon decorations, the baluster shaped body with birds in a floral reserve, each vase raised on a flared foot. Both vases in very good condition.
