(Sold) A Rare and unusual folk art carved & painted carousel/carnival ride, Mexico, 1940's.
This wonderfully whimsical carousel figure is carved as a peacock and has bright polychrome plumage feathers below a carved integral saddle & strap. The figure having impressive carved and painted tail plumage, the bird's feet terminating to comical Wizard of Oz, Dorothy style red shoes.
The figure retains the original painted decoration, it is mounted on a custom built black steel stand. Condition is very good indeed.
