A fine pair of antique 19th century French Napoleon III period bronze & marble putti, Bacchantes statues, circa 1860.
Both bronze statues are finely cast by the lost wax (Cire Perdue) method, they depict a pair of putti with fruiting grape vines, and standing of black & dark green marble socle bases. The statues representing Bacchus the Roman god of wine as an infant.
The bronzes have a mellow warm patina and both the statues and marble bases are in excellent condition, this very elegant pair of antique bronze sculptures are ready to grace your space.
