A good antique Continental Sterling silver novelty salt or pepperette, modeled as a chick, circa 1900. This charming & whimsical salt shaker/pepperette is modeled as a chick, with a repousse work and engraved design, each feather is finely engraved and the pepperette can be filled by removing a threaded screw cap on the chick's bottom. The chick is free standing, is in excellent condition, it is ready to grace your table and charm your dinner guests. Indistinct maker's marks to the underside of one foot, silver weight 26 grams.
