Antique American Mahogany Baltimore 'Butler's' Desk/Secretary Chest, Circa 1830. The desk made of fine figured mahogany, the top drawer being a fall front secretary with a fitted interior and having three graduated drawers below. The drawers having the original brass pulls embossed with an image of George Washington. The desk standing on tapered bun feet.

By repute, this desk was made by the celebrated cabinetmaker and noted Maryland abolitionist, John Needles (1786-1888)
