A fine antique Irish Hare Coursing hunting Trophy by George John Richards and Edward Charles Brown, London 1884.

The trophy having twin Rococo handles and a campana (bell Shaped) shaped body, finely decorated with engraved and repousse decoration, including a scene of two greyhounds or whippets chasing a hare in a woodland environment. To the front is an engraved cartouche with the following text "Dublin Coursing Club, present by S. Swinburne Esq, to the winner of the Members Puppy stake, won by Wolfhill, The property of W. Mc Keown".

The cup is raised on a stem with a gadrooned cuff and a flared foot, the trophy is also stamped with a London hallmark, with the maker's mark and the date letter for 1884.

Condition is very good, silver weight is 434g.
