A fine quality antique Regency mahogany gothic arched bookcase, circa 1830.
The two door bookcase with a stepped cornice (which is removable), below are two doors with twin gothic arch decoration & turned finials. The bookcase is made from the finest figured Cuban mahogany and houses five original shelves which can be adjusted for the whole height of the cabinet, allowing one to store even the largest format book.
The bookcase is raised on a plinth base, as with much regency furniture the design is very restrained and does not have fussy ornament of the Victorian period some 20 years or so later and will look good even in the most modern setting.
Condition is excellent, the glass is original as is the finish, no condition issues, the door lock works and there is a key present. This very elegant antique bookcase is ready to grace your home or office.
