A very good antique Anglo-Indian carved rosewood window seat, bench, circa 1860.
The bench being very finely carved from rosewood, with curved rests at each side & carved and pierced and with rosettes and scrolling foliate. The seat with an upholstered integral needlepoint cushion, surrounded by a frieze carved with semi-circular rosettes, the base & sides with corresponding carving and pierced work, the front with a shaped skirt and the ends with 'mihrab' (niche from a mosque) shaped carving. The seat is raised on carved and turned lotus shaped feet, condition is very good, this fine caved antique bench is ready to grace your home.
