Rare antique American Simon Willard & Son Mahogany Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Boston, Massachusetts, c. 1825.
The case made of Cuban mahogany with figured mahogany panels to the throat and base, the painted dial with black Roman numerals and having a single winding arbor hole at the 2 o'clock position. The clock surmounted with a single gilded wood finial.
The clock is an 8 day time only, single weight driven movement, all the works, weight, pendulum seem to be period & original as does the case.
The clock seems to be in original condition throughout, an almost identical clock sold at Fontaine's auction in Pittsfield MA October 23rd 2021 for $13,500.
