A good English Aesthetic Movement carved ash and leaded/stained glass secretary bookcase, circa 1890. The bookcase desk in two parts, the top with a stepped cornice, below is a pair of doors with colored leaded glass panels with a central oval design, inside are two adjustable shelves. The base having a single drawer with brass buttons that once depressed release a fall-front desk with a fitted interior comprising six drawers and five pigeon holes, the desk having an 'oxblood' colored tooled & gilded leather writing surface, key present. The base having twin doors enclosing a single shelf, the doors finely carved with floral urns, the bookcase desk raised on bracket feet, condition is excellent.
