Fine Antique American 18th century Chippendale mahogany highboy/chest on stand, most likely Boston, circa 1760. The highboy having two sections, the top section having a 'Swan's Neck" pediment and three carved finials, below is a fan carved drawer flanked by two short drawers, with four long graduated drawers below. The base section having one long drawer and a corresponding fan carved drawer, also flanked by two short drawers, the base with a shaped skirt. The highboy is raised on cabriole legs to the front and back that terminate to raised pad feet.
All the drawer linings and secondary woods are white pine, all the drawers have the original brass handles and lockplate escutcheons. Condition is very good indeed, historical and sympathetic refinish, a very fine 18th century Massachusetts highboy circa 1760. The highboy having been in the same family for several generations.
