Antique French Louis XVI Japanned and Ormolu Sevres Porcelain Writing Desk, Circa 1860. The desk in two sections, the back having a brass gallery with a pair of twin cupboard doors, each mounted with five Sevres Bleu Celeste porcelain panels. The center of the top having a small mirror with two drawers below with corresponding porcelain plaques. The base having a shaped inlaid leather writing surface that is tooled and gilded, below a single drawer with a large porcelain plaque. The desk is standing on cabriole legs with ormolu maiden-head mounts.
