A good antique American Federal Classical period mahogany and maple butler's secretary, dresser desk, circa 1830. New York or Baltimore.

The dresser is made of the finest flame mahogany, the desk drawer is inlaid with maple banding, above are two shallow drawers and below a set of three graduated drawers, all the drawers have the original bun handles. The desk drawer is lowered by pressing twin brass buttons on the inside of the desk drawer, when open the drawer reveals a fine fitted interior with maple drawers and pigeon holes and a green felt/baize writing surface. The dresser is supported is flanked with a finely pair of carved columns with acanthus leaf carving and raised on turned legs with a ball foot.
Condition is Excellent, a very handsome Mid-Atlantic States Butler's secretary circa 1830.
